Sin City Skydive Impact Skydive Educates about the Plight of Hungry Kids Las Vegas, NV: Wednesday, June 27, 2007: The Sin City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the successful completion of the fund-raising efforts of the Sin City Skydive for the Corps of Compassion. With nine total skydivers at the event on May 18, 2007 at the Skydivelasvegas.com hangar and four individual divers that contributed to the fundraising efforts for the Corps of Compassion, we have collected nearly $1,000 in donations. "The fearlessness and selflessness of the Sin City Chamber was on full display at this event. Dropping out of an airplane at 15,000 feet is a nightmare for many" commented Michael Russell, Executive Vice President of the Sin City Chamber of Commerce. "We were excited by the challenge of holding this event and the rewards it would pay for the Corps of Compassion. We are really honored to have them as Members and to be able to contribute in this small way." All of the monies collected by the Skydivers will be given to Sin City Chamber of Commerce member and non-profit, the Corps of Compassion. Special thanks is due to cocktail party sponsor Southern Wine and Spirits and our SkyDive for the Corps of Compassion Sponsor, VCX.com. Thanks to adult entertainer Goldie Sparxxx for participating in the skydive and to all of the skydivers who faced their fears and helped us make an impact for the Corps of Compassion. Special recognition is due to President of VCX.com, David Sutton. David was our leading fund raiser and was in the first airplane full of skydivers. His bravery and generosity is greatly appreciated. "David is one of the reasons the Chamber is a wonderful place to do business" commented SCCC Director of Corporate Giving, Erika Napoletano. "David and the rest of the SCCC Skydivers did a wonderful thing by contributing their time and risking their lives for the Corps of Compassion." "We are very proud to be a part of the SCCC and to have taken part in this truly amazing event for such a wonderful cause" commented David Sutton, President of VCX. "It was a thrilling day and it is even more thrilling to know that the Corps of Compassion will benefit. We look forward to working with the SCCC on future events to positively affect the Las Vegas Community." About the Corps of Compassion: The Corps of Compassion began as the Ultimate Bootcamp Foundation following Hurricane Katrina. The day after Hurricane Katrina, Scott Sullivan (Founder) made it his mission to give back to his native community of Louisiana by providing food, shelter and clothing to over 20,000 displaced disaster victims. As approximately 2,000 of these victims relocated to Las Vegas via the Corps of Compassion’s support, other needs became apparent in the local community – hungry homeless and at-risk children in Las Vegas. It was then that the Corps of Compassion began its mission to eradicate hunger in Las Vegas and the surrounding community by launching the backpack program.
